I Would Literally Look Up This Phone Everyday , After Finally Getting The Phone , All I Can Say Is Awesomeness. Battery Life Is Terrific , Lasts Me 2 Days , Quick Processor . Downloads Apps Quickly . Great Price And Has The Capability To Stretch Limits. Go Kyocera Rise !

I wish the audio quality was better... I had the optimus elite which I loved the its audio quality. if I had to rate the this feature I would give a 5 out of 10.

Shuts down many many times per day, including while I'm sleeping and haven't touched it in hours.. The start up sound is HORRIBLE so that makes the shut downs even more annoying. Anxiously awaiting the next qwerty phone to be released by Virgin Mobile.

For the price, this is a great device. My last phone was a Samsung Stratosphere and it had a larger screen, however, its' speed was not nearly as quick as the Rise...
Very happy with my purchase, I did buy a 32gb card for it because I save
many photos and apps....
Battery life does bother me tho, as I do use the internet often, but it's not so bad when using as a phone...
Anyway, bottom line, if this one goes out I will buy another.

Ive had 4 kyocera rise all defective battery life poor always focloseing everything even on calls and internet freeze some times and battery hard to git out no noch above battery to make taken out battery ezyer no auto focas so qr code reader useless all that have auto focas read browser and all private info news and wether app whin try to set custom news you set whot you want know about go back to start page sopost to update then dosnt and ive master reset 5 times fix for 10_30 minits then wouldn't update this phone total junk don't buy by lg optomus elite good co.

I just bought this smart phone after having a flip phone for many years. I love this one. Easy to use, slide down keyboard and many apps to use for it. I got this one at a really good deal and a really good plnan. Unlimited Talk, Text, Data and Internet for $55. I've been with Virgin Mobile since 2006 and I'm very happy

I thought I'd love to have a keyboard phone once again so I bought this, let me just say, i've never had to keep replacing a phone as much as this one, the speaker randomly blew out on day and that's the only physical problem i've had with it. It didn't meet up to my expectations from switching from the Optimus Elite. It's too bulky for me it's software won't use some apps like snapchat.

Just got this a couple of days ago. I like its features and the audio quality is quite good. However, I have no idea where they arrived at the battery life figures given. I have read seven days on standby... I haven't made it through a day yet! I've recharged my phone twice since I bought it two days ago. This is the second whole day, at 2PM and my battery is already dying! Two pictures taken and two short phone calls is the extent of today's use. I sure hope that I just have a bum battery. Otherwise, this will ruin an otherwise good experience with this phone.

This phone is Absolutely Great <3 as of right now it offers Android ICS ( Ice cream sandwich ) I LOVE IT !!!! I love phone with a full sliding keyboard. the Camera is AMAZING ! the buttons feel so good (y) the battery life is great but not so great. just make sure if your not gonna be home for a while ( more then 9 hours ) bring your phone charger. it will die. This phone is just all in all great . i love it . i just hope that virgin mobile lets it go to jelly bean, <3 LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVVVEE THIS PHONE.

When i first got this phone I loved it just like everyone else. Then i ran into some problems a couple months down the road you need to restart the phone at least twice a day otherwise it was start getting extremely laggy and slow. Also the call quality is mediocre. However the keyboard is great. So overall if your looking for a phone for playing games, keep searching, but if you just wanna text and make calls this phone will suffice.

This is the worst phone i have ever bought. IT WONT EVEN LET MD WRITE A REVIEW IN ORDER BECAUSE IT SO TOUCHY IT WILL NOT LET ME CORRECT TYPING ERRORS AND CONTINUE WHERE I LEFT OFF. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. IT WILL BE THE.BIGGEST WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!!!! After 15 minutes of playing a game, the battery heats up so bad it hurts my hands and freaks out to the poindropst where i have to turn it off, take thebattery out and turn it on again on top of havong a bad battery life. Mind you i got this phne on Christmas and after 5 months i am already searching for a new phone. Also, phone is.being held together by scotch tape due to a few.short drops

This phone is basically okay. The keyboard is the greatest feature the Kyocera Rise has, but there are a few disadvantages when using this phone: it freezes randomly at times, so I'd need to take the battery out to restart it; it heats up easily; and sometimes the volume buttons will not work properly. For example, I'd want to turn the silent mode off and instead use the vibration mode, but sometimes when I press the volume UP button, it'll raise the volume instead (which is something I don't want). So I'd need to press the ON/OFF button and hold it to wait for a little screen to pop up to change the silent mode/vibration. I have only had this phone for five months (since Christmas) and it freezes and heats up constantly. It even froze daily for two weeks straight. But you get what you paid for. Other than that, it functions pretty well. The keyboard is great (just be aware that the lock button is located on the side of the keyboard, so when you're texting be careful not to press it), I love the Eco Mode (helps save your battery), and apps run well (depends on the apps' functionality though). If you want a smartphone that doesn't freeze up constantly, I'd probably recommend the iPhone, but that phone is pretty pricey. This phone is a lot cheaper and works well for a cheap phone.

I have had this phone for just over two months and i absolutely love it. The battery life lasts me two days and i love the apps i can get for my phone all free! It has never frozen or shut itself off.

great battery life, 2 days with eco made.
4.0 icecream sandwich, which is amazing.
but one big flaw its quality, my screen froze and got the black screen of death for no reason, and so did my sisters.. so sad to i was really liking this phone... oh and i only had this phone for two weeks... they just dont know how to make this phone properly.

If my phone GENTLY falls onto an object, it completely shuts off. The only way it will come back on is if I remove the battery, blow it, put it back in, and gently put the back cover back on. Sometimes, however, when the back cover snaps on, the phone turns off once again with no absolute reason! Also, my phone takes longer everyday to turn on and load up. My Google Music is never on time. I sit and press the play button 14 times before my music even thinks to play. Sometimes, it just doesn't do anything! It shuts down, and I am forced to listen to Pandora. Why are my apps working better than my phone? Also, what is with this double SMS? I am tired of sending a message, and there is still a notification. Maybe if you fix this problem, then you can fix the MMS as well. I cannot even send a picture unless I am on Go SMS Pro's Go Chat with someone who also has Go Chat. This is an outrage. My apps are more reliable than my own phone. In addition, how am I suppose to get to them, when my phone can't even boot up? Please Virgin Mobile! You're commercials are trying to drive people into a product that, yes, is very affordable, but not reliable at all! Please fix these issues or send me another product that is more efficient.

Fix for the shutdown issue

Place a piece of thin cardboard/thick paper in between the battery well and the battery. Do a couple tests after putting it together. It should not shut off when bumped around after that. You may need to adjust the width after testing it.

I love this phone and I am very pleased with it. My one complaint would be that the Qwerty keyboard does not light up when used. At night, you have to turn on a light just to see the keyboard. This is my only complaint, other than that, love the phone!
